Before the brand

The name on every tool is hers.

Michelle Stanton was born Michelle Veaudry. She was a hairstylist first, and she knew the trade every client was asked to accept: the finish you wanted, paid for in the condition of your hair.

She went looking for a way out of that bargain and found it in tourmaline, a semi-precious crystal that releases negative ions and far-infrared heat when it is warmed. Bonded to ceramic, it heats the hair from within and locks moisture and shine in.

In 2006 she put her family name on the result.

Michelle Stanton, Founder
  • Negative ions Close the cuticle, so the surface lies flat and throws light back.
  • Far-infrared heat Warms the strand from the inside instead of scorching the outside.
  • Tourmaline on ceramic Spreads heat evenly across the plate, so no pass runs hotter than the last.
The timeline

Follow the strand.

One line of gold runs the length of this page. It bends the way hair did in each chapter: straight in 2006, curled in 2019, lifted by air in 2025.

2006 The beginning

The first of its kind.

The myStyler arrives: the first styler in South Africa to pair tourmaline with ceramic. It is built for the salon floor, where a tool works all day and a client's hair has to leave better than it came in.

2008 A room of her own

One salon, East London.

Veaudry opens its first salon in East London, on South Africa's Eastern Cape. The tools are now tested where they are used, by the people who use them. That salon would later grow into a hair and beauty concept salon in Fourways, Johannesburg.

Businesswoman of the Year.

Five years in, Michelle Stanton is named Nedbank Businesswoman of the Year in the entrepreneur category. A brand that began behind a salon chair is now a business the country has noticed.

2026 Year twenty

Now, the Gulf.

Twenty years after one styler in one country, Veaudry is at home in the UAE, in Arabic and in English, with the same promise it started with.

2046 Still to come

Unwritten.

This strand does not end here. It is handed on: to the stylist who has not picked up her first iron yet, and to everyone who believes a tool should leave hair better than it found it.
